Simple recipe for green beans?

I dont have really anything in my house BUT green beans. And I don't wanna just steam them. What simple ingrediants could I add to make a good meal? (I'll also have a side of rice)Simple recipe for green beans?
Salted butter, or toss them in a light Italian dressing or some type of vinagrette.Simple recipe for green beans?
cream of mushroom soup and french's fried onions on top - mmmm, OR fry up some bacon, chop into bits and cook in with the beans with a little of the grease. OR cook with almonds and dried cranberries.
Slice a handful garlic cloves into them before you boil or steam them. The garlic loses all pungency and imparts a nice mild flavor in the beans. This also works great in green peas.

I love green beans with meat sauce and melted cheese!!!

If you don't have that, toss them in your rice with either soy sauce, butter or hot sauce!
This one is yummy if you like bacon and onions! Fry the bacon until crisp, (you can cheat and use bacon bits) Crumble bacon and add chopped onion. cook till onion is a little tender and add a can( or cup) of drained green beans. Add a little water to keep from burning. simmer about 20 min or longer. This is good to put into crock pot and simmer for later..
Deglaze them in a shallow pan with some soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. At the end throw in some sliced almonds.

It won't make a complete meal, but it will go nicely with the rice and an entree.

enjoy!
here it is...
