Here are two recipes, One is for the fried onions on top and the other is actually a fried green bean...kinda crunchy...
2 pkgs. French-cut green beans
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French fried onion rings
Cook beans according to package direction. Drain. Place half the beans in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Spread half the soup over beans. Arrange layer of half the onions. Add remaining beans, soup and onions. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Yield 6 to 8 servings.
FRIED
In skillet add about 1 tablespoon grease and 1 tablespoon shortening. Add about 3 cups beans, no juice. Sprinkle with one or two tablespoons flour, salt and pepper. Fry on medium heat until browned and crispy.Does anyone have a fried green bean recipe?
Here's a quick and easy recipe:
Fried Green Beans
15 min 5 min prep 6 servings
1/2 lb sliced bacon, diced
2 cans French style green beans, drained
garlic powder (optional)
1 medium chopped onion
1. Fry bacon until almost done.
2. Drain most of the fat.
3. Add onions; cook until tender.
4. Add beans and fry until hot through
5. Sprinkle with garlic powder (optional) and salt to taste and serve.
my wife fries down some bacon or pork fat and then dumps in a jar of green beans and cooks them till all the liquid is gone and the beans are wilted
here's a tip, dont salt them till ur ready to serve or they ll be too salty
Old family recipe of Native Indian origin:
1 bag of frozen green beans, or three cans of green beans or use fresh green beans
1 lb. of bacon(fried)
1 can of diced tomatoes
I'm estimating 2 cups of ketchup cause I don't measure
Mix all together in a casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 - 45 min
ps. save out some bacon to put on top
