A family friend recently gave us a huge bag of peas and green beans from his garden. We all love green beans and im the only one who likes the traditional pea recipe. Does anyone have any recipes they use with their family for peas that I can try?
Also, does anyone have any recipe ideas besides the basic green bean side dish recipe for all these green beans??
Finally, does anyone have ideas on how to store them - i dont think I can freeze them to save for later, but we are getting tired of green beans every night!Pea recipes for a family who hates peas??? Green bean recipes too...?
You can always can your green beans if you have a pressure canner and some jars.
You can string them up on thread or with fishing line to dry (these are called Leather Britches) so you can use them at a later date by rehydrating them.
You can freeze them for future use.
We like to make green beans, ham, and potatoes.YUM! Every year my grandma always made this with the first crop of beans. I have given links below that will take you to many recipes for you to choose from.
Your peas can be frozen to be used as you need or want them (link).
