For fresh broccoli, cut the bottom third of the stems and discard. Cut the tops from the stems to make the head more manageable. Heat a large skillet (that has a lid or use a baking sheet to cover) over medium heat, add 2 t. oil or butter, then toss in some finely chopped onion and garlic and stir a moment. Add broccoli and stir, getting some of the oil/onion/garlic on a much as you can of the veg. Keep the broccoli moving for about a minute. Add 1/4 cup chicken stock (or veg stock), 1-2 T soy sauce, and any fav oriental flavoring (oyster sauce, chili sauce, black bean sauce, etc) to taste. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Let cook/steam for about 7-10 minutes. Really good served with rice.

For green beans, nothing beats cooking them in a little salted water with red potatoes and some chopped bacon over medium low heat, covered, until tender (about 1 hour or so). I hope these help!
green bean caserole is good. a package of green beans, can of cream of mushroom soup, half can of milk, frenchs fried onion rings.

mix everyhting but the onion rings together in a safe glass baking dish and bake @ 400 for about 30 minutes covered. take out, uncover and sprinkle the rings on top. bake for another 15 minutes uncovered and ur done!
A delicious and simple way to eat your broccoli and green beans is: steam them until a fork slides through comfortably (about 10 minutes) and then stir them up with a fresh goat cheese, pesto, pine nuts, and some minced garlic if you like. Sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste.
This is a wonderful broccoli dish and is sooo easy...they say to use frozen, but I have always used FRESH
